Sub-users

How WHMCS sub-user accounts affect VirtFusion SSO access.

What is a sub-user?

WHMCS allows a primary client account to add contacts (sub-users) who can also log in to the billing portal. In PhotonDash, SSO into VirtFusion requires your email to be the primary email of a WHMCS client account — not a sub-user contact on someone else's account.

Why sub-users can't SSO

PhotonDash resolves the VirtFusion user by matching your login email against WHMCS client account primary emails (via GetClientsDetails). If your email only exists as a contact on another client's account, no matching client ID is found and SSO cannot be created.

This is a VirtFusion platform constraint: each VirtFusion user is mapped to a WHMCS client ID, not a sub-user contact.

What to do if you are a sub-user

Log in to VirtFusion directly at virt.aurorahosts.com, you may need to request a password reset.

What to do if you own the account

If you believe your account should be the primary account (not a sub-user), contact AuroraHosts support via the billing portal to review your account structure.
